New Sport Cowl Accessory Available for Yamaha F9.9/T9.9

CLOSELY COMPLEMENTS COLOR SCHEME OF V MAX SHO® OUTBOARDS

Kennesaw, Ga., June 22, 2016 – Yamaha Marine Group announced today a new “sport cowl” accessory for the F9.9 and the T9.9. Designed to closely complement the color scheme of the V MAX SHO®, the cowl will become a popular addition in those applications where a 9.9 “kicker” is used with a V MAX SHO outboard as primary power.

“The new sport cowl for the F9.9/T9.9 makes a sharp statement with the V MAX SHO and also when used on its own in applications such as on small aluminum fishing or pontoon boats,” said David Meeler, Product Planning and Information Manager, Yamaha Marine Group.

Yamaha Marine Group redesigned the F9.9 and high-thrust portable outboards  in 2012 to offer greater convenience, control and a more modern look and shape, and the new sport cowl accessory offers yet another option for today’s boaters.

The F9.9/T9.9 portable outboards feature enhanced storage capability with the addition of resting pads for improved storage stability and more wide-ranging storage options. The F9.9′s tiller handle model also has an improved folding mechanism, which makes its storage profile even slimmer. Because of these improvements, mounting, unmounting and carrying are much easier, and the tiller handle is now shorter for all-around easier use.

The outboards’ four-stroke, 212cc two-cylinder, single overhead camshaft (SOHC) provides smooth, reliable power and torque, yet with outstanding fuel efficiency for maximum power in minimum space. Microcomputer Ignition adjusts timing to maintain optimum engine performance, economy and power under all conditions.

The new F9.9/T9.9 sport cowl is expected to be available as an accessory beginning in August, 2016.
