Yamaha/Ranger Pro Spencer Deutz Hosts His Ninth Youth and Family Fishing Event of the Season
Published September 19th, 2018
Stoney Point Resort on the shores of Minnesota’s Cass Lake was the host for the final Masters Walleye Circuit (MWC) event of the season September 14th-15th. The MWC brought 160 anglers fishing for the top prize of over $15,000.
Spencer Deutz, a Ranger Boats and Yamaha Outboards Professional Angler, fished the event with his father Ron. As they duo always does, they hosted a youth and family-fishing clinic following the day one weigh-in. This is Deutzes ninth clinic of the season with the goal of educating over 600 kids in 2018. Since 2010, Deutz has hosted over 70 clinics and believes he can make a significant impact on the sport through education and outreach.
Following the weigh-in, the future anglers gathered around Spencer in front of the MWC stage. Spencer went over an interactive seminar which educated them on aquatic nuisance species, fish identification, on the water safety and much more.
After the seminar, each future angler in attendance received a rod/reel combination courtesy of the National Professional Anglers Association’s (NPAA) Future Angler Foundation (FAF)
Deutz, the NPAA and the FAF would like to thank the MWC for allowing them to use their stage to host this event.
In all, 7 future anglers and 13 adults attended the clinic.
